There is a concerted effort by the general contracting and construction management industry as well as influential business groups such as the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and Unshackle Upstate to see the law repealed. Previous efforts have failed or never made it to the legislative floor in Albany, but some feel this year poses the best chance to seeing it dropped or dramatically changed.
