The Albany Business Review recently published an article reviewing the results of a Sienna Research Poll that highlights the desire for change in our civil justice system by New Yorkers.
“The results show New Yorkers support altering measures like the Scaffold Law, said Tom Stebbins, executive director of Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York. LRANY is a nonprofit group of business leaders, professionals and citizens who want to change the state’s legal system.
The Scaffold Law holds contractors and property owners fully liable in the event of an injury during construction work, regardless of whether an injured worker was at fault. Construction companies and business groups have long said the measure increases their costs in New York.”
