The Reclaimer: ALBANY ISN’T FIXING SCAFFOLD LAW, SO ONE CONGRESSMAN IS TRYING

“New York is suffering from outrageous costs of living, and doing business. A combination of cripplingly high taxes, and complex overregulation have citizens fleeing much of the state. One of the many culprits contributing to this crisis is New York’s unique “Scaffold Law”, a law over a century old but one that’s still causing trouble.

The Scaffold Law was passed in 1885 and “puts absolute liability for workers’ gravity-related injuries, such as falling from a ladder, on contractors and property owners.””
